Fatal Arlington shooting death of Desmond Ismael McKay – Obituary

Desmond Ismael McKay, a 19-year-old from Arlington, was shot and killed Monday night, June 2, at an apartment complex on Castle Gardens Drive. According to Arlington police, officers responded around 11 p.m. after reports of gunfire and discovered McKay in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital but was pronounced dead.

 

Witnesses said McKay and another individual had arrived together in a 2016 Chrysler 200. The other person attempted to drive off in McKay’s vehicle, prompting McKay to run after the car and try to stop the driver. During the ensuing struggle, shots were fired.

 

The suspect fled the scene in McKay’s car, which was later recovered in Dallas the following morning. Authorities continue to investigate and are searching for the shooter. No arrests have been made at this time.
