Fatal Galveston County shooting deaths of Eric Dopp and Wisdom Hall – Obituary
Authorities in Galveston County have confirmed that 45-year-old Eric Dopp and his 24-year-old daughter, Wisdom Hall, were the victims in a deadly shooting that occurred late Friday night in the Gilchrist area.
Deputies responded to the 900 block of Kilpatrick Road around 11:30 p.m., where they discovered both Dopp and Hall deceased outside a residence. Investigators say the shooter, identified as 38-year-old Johnathan Findley of Pasadena, got into a verbal altercation with the victims before opening fire.
According to witness accounts, the suspect fled the scene in a white vehicle. Law enforcement later located Findley’s car in Chambers County early Saturday morning. After refusing to exit the vehicle during a police stop near College Street and I-10 in Beaumont, Findley was found dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Authorities report that all three individuals were familiar with each other and had been visiting a mutual acquaintance in the area at the time of the incident. The investigation remains active as officials work to uncover the reason behind the fatal dispute.
