Fatal Akron shooting death of Ja’Sown Bivins – Obituary

Ja’Sown Bivins, 25, of Akron, was identified as the victim who was shot and killed on the night of June 5 in the Middlebury neighborhood of Akron.

The incident occurred around 10 p.m. on Johnland Avenue near Eastland Avenue. When police arrived, they found Bivins lying in a driveway with multiple gunshot wounds to his head and chest. Emergency responders attempted to save him, but he was pronounced dead at 10:19 p.m.

The Summit County Medical Examiner confirmed Bivins’ cause of death as gunshot wounds. Authorities are continuing their investigation and ask anyone with information to contact the Akron Police Department Detective Bureau or submit tips anonymously through Summit County Crimestoppers or the Akron PD app. Homicides in Summit County so far this year have shown a downward trend compared to previous years.
