Fatal Peoria Downtown shooting death of Kenadee Wallenfang – Obituary

Kenadee Wallenfang, an 18-year-old woman from Pekin, was killed following a shooting in Downtown Peoria on Tuesday afternoon.

 

The incident occurred on the 100 block of SW Water Street near the Peoria riverfront, where Wallenfang was shot at 3:19 p.m. She was rushed to OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center, where she was aggressively treated in the ICU but remained in a critical and fragile condition. Approximately 24 hours after the shooting, at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, she was declared brain dead.

 

Authorities confirmed that all individuals believed to be connected to the shooting are currently in custody. Wallenfang was registered as an organ donor, and some of her organs were used for transplantation before an autopsy was scheduled.

 

The tragic event has deeply affected the community as investigators continue to uncover details surrounding this violent act.
