Fatal Swan Lake crop duster crash death of Brian Holland – Obituary
Brian Holland, 41, of Greenville, Mississippi, has been confirmed as the individual who lost his life in a crop duster crash Friday evening in the Swan Lake region of Jefferson County, Arkansas.
Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelley verified Holland’s identity. According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Holland was operating an Air Tractor AT-502 aircraft alone when it went down close to Arkansas Highway 88, just south of the Bayou Meto Wildlife Management Area.
The crash happened around 6:15 p.m., FAA representative Chris Mullooly reported. Both the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are leading an investigation, with the NTSB serving as the primary agency.
As of Saturday afternoon, no preliminary report had been issued by the FAA. A request for comment from the NTSB’s media office was made, and a representative mentioned that initial findings typically become public within 30 days.
It remains unknown at this time who the aircraft was registered to.
Eyewitnesses from the Swan Lake area stated the crash took place just north of a local flying service along Highway 88. One individual mentioned he wasn’t present during the incident, while another who was inside the flying service building at the time chose not to discuss the event.
