Fatal Hoosick car crash death of Claire Boyer – Obituary

A devastating collision involving two vehicles at the intersection of State Route 7 and State Route 22 in Hoosick, New York, claimed the life of 84-year-old Claire Boyer of Williamstown, Massachusetts, on the morning of June 5, 2025.

New York State Police reported that the crash occurred at around 10:32 a.m. and involved a red 2010 Honda sedan and a blue 2010 Mazda sedan. Emergency crews from various departments responded promptly to the scene to assist those involved.

The Mazda was driven by 25-year-old Susan Alexis Joe of Petersburgh, New York. She was discovered outside of her vehicle with injuries to her leg and hip. After receiving immediate attention on-site, she was transported to Albany Medical Center for further care.

Behind the wheel of the Honda was 82-year-old Elizabeth Cain from North Adams, Massachusetts. Alongside her in the front passenger seat was Claire Boyer. Responding troopers found both women inside the vehicle. Cain had to be extricated by rescue personnel and was taken to Albany Medical Center with what appeared to be a leg injury.

Unfortunately, despite emergency responders’ best efforts, Boyer was declared dead at the crash site.

Preliminary findings indicate that Cain had been heading north on Route 22 and attempted a left turn onto westbound Route 7, which resulted in the collision with the Mazda.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
