Matthew Vincent Bezdicek injured in Middletown Township, MN two-vehicle crash

Fatal Middletown Township, MN car crash injury of Matthew Vincent Bezdicek – Obituary

Matthew Vincent Bezdicek, 38, of Jackson, Minnesota, sustained injuries in a two-vehicle crash that occurred Friday evening at the intersection of Highway 71 and Bluff Avenue in Middletown Township, Jackson County.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that the accident took place at around 7:05 p.m. A northbound 2008 Nissan Sentra driven by Bezdicek collided with a 2022 Chevy Silverado that was positioned at the intersection. At the time of the crash, road conditions were dry, and airbags did not deploy in either vehicle.

Bezdicek, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was hurt in the crash and taken to Jackson Medical Center for medical attention. The other driver, identified as 21-year-old Samuel Jerome Origer from Breckenridge, Colorado, was wearing his seatbelt and was not transported for medical care.

Emergency teams from the Clear Lake Iowa Police Department, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, and Jackson EMS assisted at the crash scene. Authorities are still reviewing the incident to determine the cause, focusing on potential issues related to right-of-way or limited visibility at the rural intersection.

Officials urge drivers to use caution at intersections on rural highways, where speed and visibility often contribute to serious collisions.
