Andrew Silva, 20, and Anthony Angulo, 24, lost their lives in a deadly two-car collision that occurred Saturday afternoon, June 7, in the Sun Valley neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Emergency crews responded to the scene around 3:33 p.m. at the intersection of Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Strathern Street. Upon arrival, firefighters found both Silva and Angulo trapped inside the wreckage and had to use hydraulic equipment to extricate them. Silva was pronounced deceased at the scene, while Angulo was transported in critical condition and later died at a hospital.
Two additional individuals sustained minor injuries in the crash. One of them, a 45-year-old man, declined transportation to a medical facility.
The cause of the crash has not been determined, and investigations by local authorities are ongoing. The collision significantly disrupted traffic in the area during rescue and cleanup operations.
