Jamiyah Grant, a 16-year-old girl, was shot and killed Saturday evening during a gathering at George C. Bandy Park in Opelika, Alabama, according to local authorities.
Emergency responders arrived shortly after 8:30 p.m. following reports of gunfire at the park, where a large crowd had gathered for an annual Alumni Day celebration. Investigators say that after being shot, Jamiyah attempted to flee in a vehicle but ended up crashing into another car.
