Mary Ellen Hux, 42, of New Hebron, Mississippi, tragically lost her life in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning, June 1, 2025, on Mississippi Highway 27 near Camp Lane in Copiah County.
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, Hux was behind the wheel of a 2021 Ford Bronco traveling southbound when she lost control of the SUV. The vehicle veered off the road and collided with a tree before catching fire. Emergency crews arrived shortly after but found Hux had already succumbed to her injuries and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
