Fatal Toronto stabbing death of Paulo Mota – Obituary
A Toronto man, Paulo Mota, 38, has died after being stabbed in the city’s west end earlier this year, police confirmed.
The incident took place around 2:30 a.m. on February 21 in the area of Dovercourt Road and Geary Avenue. Emergency responders rushed Mota to the hospital with critical injuries, but he succumbed to those injuries several days later.
Authorities announced that on Sunday, 44-year-old Maria Rivero of Toronto was taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder in connection to Mota’s death.
At this time, police have not disclosed whether Mota and Rivero knew each other prior to the fatal attack. The investigation remains ongoing.
