Eugene Heiss, a 43-year-old man from Walkerville, lost his life in a devastating car accident in Elbridge Township on East Harrison Road. The incident occurred just before noon on Saturday, June 7, between North 148th Avenue and North 152nd Avenue.

Authorities from the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office reported that Heiss’s vehicle veered off the roadway, ending up on the shoulder before crashing head-on into a group of trees. There were no signs that he attempted to brake before the collision.

The impact caused the car to ignite, resulting in a fiery wreck that claimed Heiss’s life at the scene.
