Fatal Horry County house fire death of Gene Mishoe – Obituary
Gene Mishoe, 53, was confirmed as one of the two people who died after a house fire broke out in the Loris area of Horry County, near the North Carolina-South Carolina line.
According to Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard, the blaze occurred in April along Armview Road. Gene Mishoe was found deceased inside the home. His wife, 54-year-old Jennifer Mishoe, was discovered at the bottom of the front steps by officers and was pulled away from the flames. Emergency responders attempted life-saving procedures before she was transported to the hospital, where she later passed away.
Prior to emergency crews arriving, a 911 call was made by a woman desperately yelling for help before the call abruptly ended. Shortly afterward, another report came in about a fire at a residence in the same location.
Responding officers were flagged down by a nearby resident who guided them to the house. Authorities confirmed that Jennifer Mishoe was located outside the residence, while Gene Mishoe was found dead inside.
