Fatal Newton shooting death of Jordan Cassel – Obituary

Jordan Cassel, 32, of Albemarle, lost his life following a shooting early Sunday morning, June 8, 2025, at the Outlaw Motorcycle Club House located on North Main Avenue in Newton. Law enforcement officers responded to a report received shortly after 2 a.m. from the Catawba County Communications Center. Upon arrival, they discovered two individuals who had sustained gunshot wounds.

Both victims were promptly transported by Catawba County EMS to Catawba Valley Medical Center. Sadly, Jordan Cassel succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, while the second victim was airlifted to Atrium Health Medical Center in Charlotte, remaining in critical condition.

Investigators reported that at least thirty-six rounds were fired from multiple firearms during the incident. When officers arrived, they encountered around thirty people at the scene, many of whom were believed to be armed. No arrests have been made so far, and the investigation is ongoing.
