Fatal Shawangunk car crash death of Bernard A. Pohl – Obituary

Bernard A. Pohl, 86, of Pine Bush, lost his life in a single-vehicle accident on Tuesday afternoon, June 10, along State Route 52 in Shawangunk, New York.

State police reported that Pohl was driving a 2019 Honda eastbound when the vehicle crossed the double yellow line while traveling at a high speed. The car veered off onto the north shoulder, hit a utility pole, overturned several times, and eventually came to a stop after colliding with a tree.

Pohl, who was the only person in the vehicle, was declared dead at the scene. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, with assistance from the Shawangunk Police Department.
