Dennis Diaz dies in fatal Lewiston truck crash

Fatal Lewiston truck crash death of Dennis Diaz – Obituary

Dennis Diaz, 80, lost his life on Tuesday night after he was hit by a truck while trying to cross 21st Street in Lewiston, Idaho. The collision happened around 9:30 p.m., just south of a Taco Bell location.

According to the Lewiston Police Department, Diaz was attempting to cross from the east side to the west and was not in a marked crosswalk at the time. A Lewiston police officer, who was driving two cars behind the truck that struck him, saw the incident and immediately rendered aid. Paramedics arrived shortly after and took over, but Diaz succumbed to his injuries.

The department’s Major Collision Investigation Team responded, and the road was closed for approximately three hours while authorities examined the scene. Police are asking anyone who may have more information to reach out to Sgt. Craig Roberts at 746-0171.
