Dennis Eugene Taylor, 86, of Cross Lanes, lost his life early Monday morning after being struck by a vehicle while walking along Goff Mountain Road. The accident occurred at around 5 a.m. on June 9, when Taylor was hit by a southbound car while traveling on foot.

Emergency personnel arrived quickly and transported Taylor to West Virginia University Medicine Thomas Memorial Hospital in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, he was later pronounced dead.
