Dominic Ferrell, a 17-year-old teenager, was tragically killed in a stabbing incident early Sunday morning at a luxury high-rise located on the 34th floor of the Icon Residences at 485 Brickell Avenue in Miami.

The stabbing occurred shortly after 2 a.m., when police responded to reports of a victim found with stab wounds inside the apartment. Ferrell was pronounced dead at the scene.

Miami Police reported that the young victim was attacked while asleep, and ruled out domestic violence as a cause. The apartment door was found unlocked, with no signs of forced entry.

Surveillance footage captured an individual fleeing the building immediately following the attack, heading toward a nearby construction site.

The suspect was later found dead at the construction site across the street. Authorities identified him as 26-year-old Kyrill R. Kehl. It remains unclear whether Kehl’s fall to his death was accidental or intentional, and whether there was any prior relationship between him and Ferrell.

The violent incident prompted a significant police response including SWAT teams and forensic investigators, leaving the local community shaken. Residents and community leaders have since called for better security and transparency from building management to ensure safety in the area.
