Fatal Kingman Arizona wrong-way crash death of Jason Ortiz – Obituary

Jason Ortiz, along with his wife Madeleine and their young daughter Jennilee, lost their lives in a tragic wrong-way collision near White Hills, Arizona, early Saturday morning. The crash happened around 2 a.m. on U.S. 93, roughly 40 miles north of Kingman, when a suspected impaired driver was heading north in the southbound lane and collided head-on with the Ortiz family’s Hyundai station wagon.

The impact caused the vehicle to catch fire, resulting in the deaths of all five individuals involved, including the suspected drunk driver and a passenger. Ortiz, remembered by his close friend Ryan Yonts as a devoted father and hardworking man, leaves behind loved ones mourning the devastating loss.

Officials have not released the names of the suspected impaired driver or the passenger. Authorities note that this crash is part of a troubling increase in fatal wrong-way accidents in Arizona, many involving alcohol impairment.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety urges the public to avoid drinking and driving, highlighting the severe consequences such actions can have on families and communities.
