Fatal Bee Branch police chase crash death of Joey Vincent Simmons – Obituary

Joey Vincent Simmons, a 23-year-old man from Memphis, died early Wednesday morning following a high-speed pursuit with Arkansas State Police near Bee Branch, Arkansas.

 

Simmons, who was reportedly connected to a string of armed robberies at convenience stores in Conway and Damascus, was spotted by authorities driving a Toyota Camry along U.S. Highway 65. Troopers initiated a chase after identifying him.

 

During the pursuit, Simmons reportedly drove at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour and fired a weapon at the pursuing officers. The chase ended when Simmons lost control of his vehicle, which veered into a wooded area. He was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 7:45 a.m.

 

No law enforcement officers were injured in the incident. The investigation into the case remains active.
