Jonathan Mayers, co-founder of the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, passed away just days before the 2025 festival was set to begin in Manchester, Tennessee. At 51 years old, Mayers’ death was confirmed by multiple sources including obituaries published by Pitchfork and The Hollywood Reporter, though the exact cause of death has not been made public.

Mayers was a key figure behind Superfly, the entertainment and marketing company responsible for creating both Bonnaroo and the Outside Lands festival in San Francisco.
