Jordan Thompson, a 33-year-old Toronto resident, was fatally shot Monday night in southeast Scarborough, according to police. The incident occurred in a parking lot near Cedar Drive and Eglinton Avenue East, where officers found Thompson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds around 3:11 p.m. He was rushed to a nearby trauma center but was later pronounced dead.
Police have described the shooting as targeted and are currently searching for multiple suspects linked to the case. Investigators believe an altercation took place involving Thompson and at least one other person shortly before the shooting. Authorities are urging anyone who was near the scene or who may have dashcam or video footage to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.
This marks the 15th homicide in Toronto this year. Although police have stated the shooting does not appear connected to recent tow truck turf wars, they continue to explore all leads.
