Michael Alstat is facing charges after a violent altercation early June 7 in rural Murphysboro, Illinois, left two people seriously injured. The incident occurred around 3 a.m. near Business Highway 13 and Ava Road, where deputies responded to reports of a stabbing.
The victims, identified as Matthew Dunmyer and Nico Harper, were found on a nearby porch covered in blood. Both sustained severe wounds and were transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment.
Investigators say the three individuals—Alstat, Dunmyer, and Harper—were traveling together in the same vehicle when a fight broke out. Alstat was located at a separate residence with minor injuries and taken into custody.
He now faces charges of reckless conduct and two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily harm. The investigation remains ongoing, with further updates expected as authorities gather more information.
