Montrell Williams, a 2-year-old boy from the Bronx, is feared dead after authorities believe he was thrown into the Bronx River by his father. The toddler was last seen on the evening of May 10, wearing a white shirt and diaper, during a custodial visit with his father who never returned him to his mother.
The NYPD has focused search efforts with divers in the Bronx River near the Bruckner Expressway. Montrell’s mother, aged 17, reportedly confronted the father this past weekend after he failed to return their son. During the encounter, police say the father displayed a knife and allegedly admitted to throwing Montrell into the river.
The father, 20 years old and not publicly identified, was taken into custody for questioning. Investigators continue their search for Montrell, urging anyone with information to contact the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline.
