Fatal Carlisle officer-involved shooting death of Felipe Millan-Gomez – Obituary
Felipe Millan-Gomez, 33, originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, was killed during a police shooting near Carlisle, Arkansas on Wednesday. Millan-Gomez was wanted in Manistee County for an armed carjacking and kidnapping that occurred earlier that week.
Authorities said Millan-Gomez allegedly threatened a woman with a gun, forced her to drive, and took control of her vehicle. Arkansas State Police stopped Millan-Gomez on Interstate 40 near the 18-mile marker around 1:30 p.m. During the traffic stop, Millan-Gomez exited the vehicle and displayed a weapon, prompting officers to open fire, fatally wounding him. His body was taken to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for examination. The Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division is conducting a full investigation, which will be submitted to the Lonoke County Prosecutor to assess whether the use of deadly force was lawful under state regulations.
