Heather Welcome dies in fatal Inwood shooting

Fatal Inwood shooting death of Heather Welcome – Obituary

Heather Welcome, 49, of Inwood, West Virginia, was found dead at a residence on Sulphur Springs Road following a reported domestic disturbance.

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department responded to the incident on June 10 around 3:15 p.m. at 473 Sulphur Springs Road. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Welcome deceased at the scene.

A man identified as 41-year-old Derrick Fillinger, also of Inwood, was found at the location with injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities have since charged Fillinger with murder in connection to Welcome’s death. The case remains under active investigation.
