In a tribute on a GoFundMe page set up to assist with funeral expenses, Jose’s sister, Tania Calderon, remembered him as someone vibrant and full of love, with a promising future ahead. The family is now seeking support to return Jose’s remains to Mexico, where he will be laid to rest beside his parents.
As of Tuesday, police had made no arrests in the case. Authorities reported that the suspects fled the scene, and Kent Police are continuing their investigation. Community members with any relevant information are encouraged to contact law enforcement.
