Fatal Lafayette County car crash deaths of Misty Montgomery and Jennifer Campbell – Obituary

Two women lost their lives and two minors were injured in a devastating two-vehicle collision Saturday morning in Lafayette County, Mississippi. The Mississippi Highway Patrol reported the accident occurred around 8:43 a.m. along Highway 30.

 

According to officials, 44-year-old Misty Montgomery was driving a 2013 Ford Expedition eastbound on the highway when her vehicle collided head-on with a westbound 2015 Dodge Ram operated by a minor. The impact caused major damage to both vehicles and prompted an immediate emergency response.

 

First responders provided aid to all individuals involved in the crash. Tragically, Montgomery was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in her vehicle, identified as 32-year-old Jennifer Campbell, also died at the scene due to her injuries.

 

Two minors, one from each vehicle, sustained moderate injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital. Their conditions have not been publicly updated but are not believed to be life-threatening.

 

Authorities closed the area for several hours to conduct a thorough investigation into what led to the collision. Officials are examining factors such as speed, road conditions, and driver behavior as part of their ongoing inquiry.
