Fatal Jackson crash death of Montez Dallas Watson and Tyreke Martez Johnson – Obituary

Authorities have identified Montez Dallas Watson, 30, of Sterling Heights, and Tyreke Martez Johnson, 22, of Warren, as the two men who lost their lives in a tragic accident on Monday morning along I-94 just west of Jackson.

The incident occurred around 9:15 a.m., when the box truck the men were riding in collided with the rear of a gravel hauler semi truck that had slowed down. Both Watson and Johnson were in the cab of the box truck at the time of the crash and were pronounced dead at the scene.

Due to the severity of the crash, I-94 was shut down at the Airport Road Exit 137 for nearly eight hours while emergency crews responded and cleared the area. The highway was reopened to traffic around 4:30 p.m., according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.

The Blackman-Leoni Township Department of Public Safety is leading the investigation into the cause of the collision.
