Torrie Baldwin, wife of pilot Landon Baldwin, was among six victims who perished in a plane crash off the coast of Point Loma, California. The accident happened shortly after noon on Sunday following takeoff from San Diego International Airport.

As the plane climbed, the pilot reported difficulties maintaining direction and altitude. The aircraft lost significant altitude rapidly, then climbed erratically before it crashed into the ocean.

Recovery teams discovered debris floating in deep coastal waters. Efforts to retrieve victims’ remains were suspended after two days of intense searching by the U.S. Coast Guard and other local agencies.

Torrie Baldwin was a resident of the Gila Valley region in Arizona. She and her husband were traveling together when the tragedy occurred.
