Cole Cooper, a 19-year-old from Falkirk, has been confirmed dead after his body was found in a wooded area near Banknock on June 6, following a four-week search. His disappearance was reported on May 9 by his family, sparking an extensive investigation that included marine and air support as well as door-to-door inquiries.
The circumstances surrounding Cole’s death remain unclear, and authorities are treating it as unexplained. CCTV footage had previously captured him on May 4 around 6 a.m. near his father’s home on Cumbernauld Road in Longcroft. He was later spotted by a friend on May 7 around 8:45 p.m. at Glasgow Road and Cumbernauld Road.
Police are appealing to the public for any information or surveillance footage from the area, particularly along the A803 Kilsyth Road between May 4 and May 7. A team of detectives is continuing to trace his last known movements. Floral tributes have been placed near the site where his body was discovered, and a vigil in his memory is scheduled at the Glenskirlie Hotel in Banknock.
Chief Inspector Alex Hatrick expressed condolences to the family and confirmed they are being kept updated as investigations move forward. Anyone with potential leads is urged to contact police at 101, referencing incident number 828 of Friday, May 9.
