Fatal Lee’s Summit bicycle crash death of Noah Lakey – Obituary

Authorities have identified 14-year-old Noah Lakey of Lee’s Summit as the victim who died following a bicycle crash earlier this week.

The accident occurred around 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of Southwest Jefferson Street and Southwest Scherer Road. According to early findings from the investigation, Lakey had been riding south along the sidewalk on the east side of Jefferson Street. He then entered the westbound lanes of Scherer Road, where he was struck by a vehicle.

Emergency personnel responded quickly, and Lakey was taken to a hospital. Despite efforts to save him, he was later pronounced dead.

The driver involved in the crash was checked out by paramedics at the scene but did not require hospitalization. Police say the details surrounding the incident are still under review.

Noah Lakey was a student at Summit Lakes Middle School.
