Fatal Washington County drowning death of Rosendo Alberto Najera – Obituary

Rosendo Alberto Najera, a 45-year-old man from Fort Meade, Florida, lost his life in an accidental drowning while working on a bridge in Washington County.

 

Authorities from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office reported that Najera had been performing bridge and piling repair work on the Choctawhatchee River when the incident occurred. He was employed by a company operating out of South Florida.

 

After conducting an investigation and consulting with the First Judicial Circuit Medical Examiner’s Office, officials have determined the cause of death to be an accidental drowning.

 

Najera’s death prompted a search effort after he was initially reported missing during the work operation. The sheriff’s office expressed condolences to his family, stating their thoughts and prayers are with those grieving this loss.
