Spicer, MN Man Arrested After Police Chase in Kandiyohi County

SPICER, MN — A 49-year-old Spicer man was arrested Wednesday following a police chase and search in Kandiyohi County.

According to the CEE-6 Drug and Gang Task Force, officers engaged in a vehicle pursuit near Spicer around 10:54 a.m. The chase began in the 9700 block of County Road 9 Northeast but was discontinued due to reckless driving as the suspect drove off the road near County Roads 5 and 29.

Officers later found the vehicle near a residence close to where it was last seen. They were informed the suspect had fled into the woods and then onto an island in a nearby pond. The man eventually surrendered, returned to dry land, and was taken into custody on outstanding warrants and fleeing charges.

The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Department assisted with the arrest.
