MOSS LANDING, CALIFORNIA— Joshua Timothy Holtzclaw, a 29-year-old resident of Moss Landing, was arrested in Monterey County in connection with a deadly altercation that followed a boat collision in the Moss Landing Harbor.

According to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, Holtzclaw was taken into custody on Wednesday morning after deputies responded to reports of a boat crash at the harbor. Authorities say the incident escalated when Holtzclaw boarded the other vessel and allegedly assaulted 26-year-old Trenten Paul Black of Aptos with a stick during a physical confrontation.
