Fatal DeKalb County shooting death of Tomika Pullins and Dior Scott – Obituary

Authorities in DeKalb County have confirmed that 29-year-old Tomika Pullins and her 7-year-old niece, Dior Scott, were fatally shot on Friday afternoon in what police say was a domestic violence incident inside an apartment on Columbia Drive.

Officers responded to The Forest at Columbia Apartments shortly before 3 p.m. after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered Pullins and Scott with critical injuries from gunshot wounds. Paramedics attempted to revive them, but both were declared deceased at the scene.

Investigators have identified 48-year-old William Lewis Almond, the estranged husband of Pullins and uncle to the young girl, as the suspect.

Witnesses reported that Almond tried to force his way into the residence and, after being refused entry, shattered a window and began shooting. He fled the area on foot, triggering an urgent manhunt before being taken into custody.

Police continue to investigate the tragic shooting and are urging anyone with additional information to come forward.
