Deborah Miles was found dead in her South Mulberry Street residence on Sunday, the victim of a brutal stabbing that authorities have classified as a homicide.

Statesboro Police reported that Miles died after sustaining multiple stab wounds. The suspect, identified as 46-year-old James Dexter Porter of Kennedy Bridge Road in Claxton, has been arrested and is being held in the Bulloch County Jail without bond. He faces felony murder charges in connection with Miles’ death.
