Fatal Las Cruces pedestrian crash death of Juan A. Haro – Obituary

Juan A. Haro, 48, lost his life after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a street late Friday night, June 13, in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

Authorities responded to the scene at the intersection of Boutz Road and El Paseo Road at approximately 10:50 p.m., following reports of a pedestrian-involved crash.

 

When Las Cruces Police and Fire personnel arrived, they found Haro with severe injuries. Despite emergency efforts to save him, Haro was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

According to investigators, Haro had been crossing Boutz Road from north to south when he was hit by a westbound vehicle nearing El Paseo Road. The driver of the vehicle, a 17-year-old, stopped nearby and cooperated with police. The vehicle was taken in by authorities as part of the ongoing investigation.

 

No charges have been filed at this stage. Police are continuing to gather information and are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has video footage to contact Las Cruces traffic investigators at (575) 526-0795.
