Fatal Miller County car crash death of Marcus Jerome Floyd – Obituary

Marcus Jerome Floyd, 36, of Texarkana, was killed Wednesday evening in a head-on collision on Four States Fair Parkway in Miller County, Arkansas. The crash occurred around 5:25 p.m., according to preliminary findings from the Arkansas State Police.

Floyd was driving a 1999 Lexus southbound when his vehicle lost control, likely due to wet road conditions caused by rain. The Lexus hydroplaned and veered across the concrete median, slamming into a northbound 2020 Jeep traveling in the opposite direction.

The Jeep was driven by Matthew Brian Smith, 32, with Justin Kieth Woodson, 43, as a passenger. Both men, also from Texarkana, sustained injuries and were transported to Christus St. Michael Hospital for medical attention.

Authorities noted that it was raining at the time of the crash and the road surface was wet, contributing to the loss of control that led to the fatal accident.
