Fatal St. Mary Parish car crash death of Norma Clements – Obituary
Norma Clements, 86, of Centerville, tragically lost her life following a two-vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 90 near Louisiana Highway 182 on Friday morning, June 13, 2025.
According to Louisiana State Police, the crash occurred just before 10:00 a.m. when Clements, driving a 2013 Nissan Rogue, was stopped at the intersection on LA 182. As she attempted to cross U.S. 90 heading south, her vehicle moved into the path of a westbound 2022 Ford F600 Super Duty truck hauling a trailer. Despite the Ford driver’s attempt to avoid a crash, the truck collided with the left side of Clements’ vehicle.
Clements, who was properly restrained, suffered critical injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, where she later died. The driver of the Ford was unharmed.
Authorities reported that the Ford driver showed no signs of impairment and voluntarily submitted a breath sample, which revealed no alcohol. A routine toxicology sample from Clements has been sent for analysis as the investigation continues.
Troopers urge drivers to stay alert, avoid distractions, and drive sober, noting that while not every accident is avoidable, responsible driving habits can help prevent tragedies like this one.
