Steven A. Lares dies in fatal South Austin shooting

Fatal South Austin shooting death of Steven A. Lares – Obituary

Steven A. Lares, 38, has been identified as one of the victims in a double homicide that occurred late Friday night in Chicago’s South Austin neighborhood. According to police, the shooting took place around 11:41 p.m. on the 100 block of Laramie Avenue on the city’s West Side.

Lares and another man, whose identity has not yet been released, were sitting inside a vehicle when an individual approached and opened fire on them. Both men were taken to the hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.

Authorities stated that the second victim is believed to be between 30 and 50 years old. As of now, no suspects have been arrested, and the investigation remains ongoing.
