Anna Pierce, a 30-year-old biology teacher and tennis coach at Hunters Lane High School in Nashville, was fatally shot on Sunday morning in what authorities are calling a murder-suicide.

Metro Nashville Police confirmed that Anna was killed by her husband, 46-year-old Steven Pierce, inside a condominium located off 31st Avenue North in the West End area of the city.

Following the shooting, Steven Pierce reportedly turned the weapon on himself. Police officers discovered a revolver underneath his body at the scene.

The investigation revealed that the couple had been experiencing recent marital tension, with financial disagreements and discussions of divorce.
