Bradford Stephens dies in fatal Atlanta car crash

Bradford Stephens, 40, was identified as the victim who lost his life in a wrong-way crash early Sunday morning on Interstate 285 in Atlanta.
Authorities say the deadly collision took place just after 3:30 a.m. near the Benjamin E. Mays Bridge, when a 21-year-old driver traveling in the wrong direction struck Stephens’ vehicle head-on.
Stephens died from his injuries at the scene, while the wrong-way driver survived and was transported to the hospital in serious condition, according to Atlanta police.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Stephens’ identity on Monday.
The Atlanta Police Department has launched an investigation into the fatal crash and is working to determine what led the younger driver to enter the interstate going the wrong way.
