Fatal Northeast DC shooting death of Decordre Chiles

Authorities in Washington, D.C. are investigating the death of 33-year-old Decordre Chiles, who was found fatally shot inside his home in Northeast D.C. early Sunday morning.

 

Police were called to the 1000 block of 16th Street Northeast around 2 a.m. on June 15. When officers arrived, they discovered Chiles with gunshot wounds. Medical responders found no signs of life, and he was declared dead at the scene.

 

Chiles, a resident of Oxon Hill, Maryland, was identified as the victim shortly after. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and law enforcement has yet to announce any suspects or arrests.

 

The Metropolitan Police Department is actively seeking information related to the case. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for tips that result in an arrest and conviction.
