Goldy Eisenbach, a 4-year-old girl from Spring Valley, tragically lost her life after being struck by a suspected drunk driver on Saturday evening.

The incident occurred just before 9:30 p.m. on Old Nyack Turnpike near Zachary Court in Rockland County, New York.

Goldy was walking on the sidewalk with two other children, ages 5 and 2, and a 31-year-old man as they left a nearby park when a vehicle driven by 41-year-old Axel Lopez-Santiago hit them. The driver’s vehicle became disabled, and he was trapped inside following the crash.

All four victims were rushed to local hospitals. Goldy succumbed to her injuries a few hours after the collision. The 31-year-old man sustained life-threatening wounds, the 5-year-old boy was seriously injured, and the condition of the 2-year-old boy has not been disclosed.

Authorities suspect that Lopez-Santiago was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. He was arraigned on Sunday and is being held on $750,000 cash bail.
