Javion J. Fort dies in fatal Akron shooting

Fatal Akron shooting death of Javion J. Fort

Fifteen-year-old Javion J. Fort was fatally shot on June 13 near the intersection of South Rhoades Avenue and Oberlin Court in Akron, Ohio.

Responding officers arrived at the scene around 5:30 p.m. and found Javion with a gunshot wound.

He was rushed to Akron Children’s Hospital for treatment, but despite efforts to save him, he was later declared deceased.

Gary Guenther, chief medical investigator for the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office, confirmed Javion’s identity.

Akron Police Chief Brian Harding and Mayor Shammas Malik both extended heartfelt condolences to Javion’s loved ones and all who have been affected by the tragedy.
