Jere Charginghawk, 44, was killed early Saturday morning after being struck by a vehicle in a business parking lot located near North 27th Street and Cornhusker Highway in Lincoln, Nebraska.

The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m., according to local police. Authorities said that the driver responsible for the collision had already left the scene by the time officers arrived.

Charginghawk was pronounced dead at the location of the crash.

Investigators stated that neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to have contributed to the incident. As of now, no suspects have been taken into custody, and no charges have been filed. The investigation remains ongoing.
