Joseph Jeffreys Jr. dies in fatal Henderson shooting
Fatal Henderson shooting death of Joseph Jeffreys Jr.
Police in Henderson are investigating a double homicide that left a young man and his mother dead after a shooting occurred Sunday evening on Maple Street.
Just before 7 p.m., officers arrived at the 900 block of Maple Street in response to a reported shooting. Upon arrival, they found two people who had been fatally shot.
One of the victims was identified as 26-year-old Joseph Jeffreys Jr., who lived on Maple Street. His mother, 63-year-old Teresa Davis, was also found dead at the scene.
Authorities have obtained warrants for 41-year-old Michael Sharron Wright in connection to the killings. He is currently at large and wanted for the murder of both Jeffreys and Davis.
According to police, Wright fled the area in a white Hyundai Sonata with North Carolina license plate number KEE-6554 and is believed to be carrying a weapon.
Officials have labeled Wright as armed and dangerous and are urging the public to stay away from him if spotted.
