Quan Vaughn dies in fatal Cahokia Heights shooting

Fatal Cahokia Heights shooting death of Quan Vaughn

A young man lost his life early Sunday morning after being shot multiple times in Cahokia Heights, according to local authorities.

Nineteen-year-old Quan Vaughn, a resident of Cahokia Heights, was found with gunshot wounds in the 300 block of Greystone Drive. Emergency crews arrived shortly after 5 a.m. following a report of gunfire.

Paramedics transported Vaughn from the Greystone Apartments to Touchette Regional Hospital, where he was declared dead at 6:06 a.m., said St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr.

Police Chief Thomas Trice stated that officers responded at 5:10 a.m. to the scene, where they located Vaughn suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The young man’s last listed address was 316 Greystone Drive.

Investigators from the Cahokia Heights Criminal Investigation Division are currently working on the case and following several leads. So far, a motive has not been determined.

Vaughn’s death marks the fourth homicide reported in Cahokia Heights this year.
