Augusta, Georgia Man Tayshaun Antonio Goodwin Arrested in Richmond County for Murder

AUGUSTA, Ga. — Tayshaun Antonio Goodwin, an 18-year-old resident of Augusta, was arrested in Richmond County in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred on May 21 on Lumpkin Road.

According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the scene where they found Jaquavious Watkins suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Watkins was transported to a hospital but was pronounced dead that evening at 8:20 p.m.

Goodwin turned himself in to North Augusta Public Safety on Monday and is currently held at the Aiken County Detention Center awaiting extradition to Augusta.

Authorities continue to investigate the case as they seek any additional information from the public.
